We had a great time on our Autumn Tour. The sun was shining, the leaves had turned, we hung out with some great people, ate good food and laughed a lot. In fact we had a great year, but who wants to live in the past? Those days are over. We’re making another record now so please buy some stuff from our shop and keep us in biscuits.
Ok, we’re heading off in the van again this week, going back to a few places we’ve already enjoyed playing (Brighton, Manchester, Newcastle, Cambridge) and trying a few places out for size (Winchester, Sheffield, Hebden Bridge, Glasgow). We’ve added a warm-up date in London as well, because that’s where we live.
As it’s autumn we’ll be wearing mostly muted reds and greens, listening to Simon & Garfunkel while we kick leaves around. Ordinarily we dress in black, listen to Mayhem and get ripped on cheap cider and amphetamines.
The third and final single from our first album is released today on Records Records Records. Except it’s only available as a download, in an attempt to save you space. INJURED PARTY comes partnered with an odd new song called SOMETHING AWKWARD. Jon Baker has made a video for INJURED PARTY that you can see HERE.
The ‘cover’ image was designed by Ashod Simonian again, thank God. The photo was taken by Ashod up Mt. Hood in northern Oregon and captures our Steven stumbling away from the Timberline Lodge (which can be seen in Kubrick’s movie The Shining), confused and snowblinded, openly weeping. Here’s a photo of Ashod just after he took that photo.
As luck would have it, earlier that same afternoon they stopped to look at a canyon and found themselves gazing upon the very same bridge Ashod had photographed months earlier for the cover of the Bird On The Wing single.
It feels good to make a little fuss about this song because it was one of the first that we worked on together as a band. Next up we’re going to play some shows and say goodbye to Everybody Friends Now as we want to work on a new album. Because that’s why we’re here. So come and see us play in London/Oxford/Bristol this week. Date/venue business up there on the right.
We’ve got a load more shows coming up. And we’ll have a new single out in September. This is a picture of some of our album art getting ‘barfed over a picture of some horses’ that Ashod sent over.
